A considered, medical approach.
Skin needling is one of our most requested treatments, a gold-standard treatment widely considered among the most effective in the dermal industry, and for good reason. When it is performed by an experienced dermal clinician, it is one of the best ways to support your skin’s own repair processes, refine texture, and create real long-term change. But not all skin needling is equal, and this is where Plump has taken a medically minded, research-led approach.
At Plump we have curated our skin needling into two tiers. Each is designed to accelerate your comfort, minimise your downtime, and personalise every step to your specific skin concerns and goals. There is no same-for-everyone, cookie-cutter approach here. We assess your skin properly first, then build the treatment around you. That is how we get the kind of considered results you keep coming back for.
Skin needling uses fine needles to create controlled micro-channels in the skin. Your body responds by initiating its natural wound-healing cascade, stimulating fibroblast activity, collagen and elastin production, and dermal remodelling over the weeks that follow. Those same micro-channels also let us deliver targeted actives far more effectively than topical application alone, which is exactly where our tiered approach comes in. Our experienced dermal clinicians have extensive knowledge in this treatment, so their depth, technique and approach support your skin, work with it rather than harm it, and progress it steadily toward the best clinical outcomes.
Tier One is a beautifully considered treatment in its own right. It includes a bespoke LED peel selected for your skin on the day, the needling treatment itself paired with a hyaluronic acid infusion glide to keep the skin hydrated and comfortable throughout, and a curated set of post-care products to take home so your skin is supported through recovery. It is a complete, results-driven treatment that respects your skin barrier and your downtime.
Tier Two takes everything in the foundation treatment and elevates it with a medical booster infusion. Rather than a single generic serum, we formulate a bespoke, medical-grade infusion protocol tailored to your presenting concerns. Whether we are working with early laxity, pigmentation, redness, dehydration, scarring, or active and post-acne skin, we select and combine targeted actives to address the specific mechanisms driving your concern, delivered directly through the channels created during your treatment for enhanced penetration and results.
This is regenerative, biostimulatory skin health at a considered clinical level: personalised, intentional, and designed for meaningful long-term change rather than a temporary result.
Your skin is not the same as anyone else’s, and the way we treat it should not be either. The two tiers let us meet your skin exactly where it is, respect your comfort and downtime, and build a plan that makes clinical sense for your concerns and goals. It is the difference between a treatment that feels standard and one genuinely designed for you: no upsold add-ons, just clinically appropriate, progressive options to advance your results if you choose.
Every infusion is formulated to your skin and applied topically through the micro-channels created during your treatment (mesotherapy). Our medical booster ingredients include:
Each of these is selected and combined intentionally, never at random, and always based on what your skin actually needs.
Every treatment begins with an assessment of your skin, so we can tailor the depth, technique and any boosters to what your skin needs on the day. You may not always dive straight into treatment. Some results are best achieved when you prep your skin with the right skincare or treatments first, to make sure it is genuinely ready. There is real clinical reasoning behind this. Priming the skin with a retinoid beforehand can support healthy cell turnover, strengthen the skin, and help it respond better and heal faster. For pigment-prone skin, we may prepare it with tyrosinase inhibitors, ingredients that calm the melanocyte activity responsible for pigment production, to reduce the risk of post-inflammatory pigmentation before we ever introduce a controlled injury. Prepping this way builds a healthy, resilient barrier, lowers the chance of complications, and means your results actually last.
When it comes to the treatment itself, we thoroughly cleanse and prepare the skin, then work methodically across the treatment areas, adjusting the needle depth and the layers we work into for each part of the face, before finishing by infusing and soothing the skin. Most treatments take around 45 to 60 minutes, though only part of that is the needling itself. Many clients find it far less uncomfortable than they expect, and some even find it relaxing. There is a genuine comfort in knowing your skin is in experienced, capable and caring hands.
Skin needling is often feared for its downtime, but our clinical approach, and our own clients’ reports, mean Plump patients are often delightfully surprised by how quickly they return to daily life. In the first 24 to 48 hours it is normal for the skin to feel warm and tight. Straight after treatment the skin looks flushed and red, settling to a light pink similar to mild sun exposure, which is the beginning of the healing process. It settles over the following day or two, and some skins may experience slight dryness or light flaking as the skin renews. Everyone recovers a little differently, which is exactly why we personalise your treatment and talk you through what to expect.
Supporting your skin properly afterwards is just as important as the treatment itself. In the days following, we keep things simple and gentle: calming, barrier-supportive products, no active ingredients such as retinol, vitamin C or exfoliants until we advise, and absolutely no picking or exfoliating. Keep the skin hydrated, avoid heat, saunas, heavy sweating and direct sun, and wear a broad-spectrum SPF every day. We send you home with the right post-care products and clear guidance so your skin is looked after through every stage of recovery.
Skin needling works with your biology, and collagen remodelling takes time. While many people notice an improvement in skin quality and glow early on, the most meaningful results build over the weeks and months that follow. For this reason we usually recommend a considered course of treatments, spaced appropriately for your skin and paired with a supportive homecare routine. Consistency, correct sequencing and a proper plan are what create real, lasting change, which is why we will often discuss a bespoke package with you at your initial consultation.
Because skin needling works with your own collagen, the improvements you build are yours to keep. That said, skin is always ageing and responding to daily life, sun exposure and your internal health, so results are best thought of as something we maintain rather than a one-off fix. The results of a well-planned course can last many months. To protect and prolong them, we recommend staying consistent with your homecare, wearing a daily broad-spectrum SPF, and returning for maintenance treatments spaced to suit your skin, often seasonally or every few months. We map all of this out with you, so there is no guesswork, just a clear plan to protect the investment you have made in your skin.
